Spotify has launched AI-powered podcast discovery features that use machine learning to personalize recommendations and help users find content matching their interests.
The new system analyzes listening patterns, topic preferences, and even speaking style preferences to suggest podcasts that users are more likely to enjoy. It also provides AI-generated episode summaries to help users decide what to listen to.
"Podcast discovery has always been a challenge for listeners," said Spotify's Head of Podcasts. "Our AI system solves this by understanding what listeners actually want."
The feature is part of Spotify's broader strategy to compete in the podcast market, where it faces competition from Apple Podcasts and Amazon Music.
Spotify also announced that podcast listeners have increased 40% year-over-year, with the company now hosting over 5 million podcasts.
